John Cooper Clarke
I've started a new series of images. It doesn't have a title yet, but it's going to be collection of portraits of writers. I started with John Cooper Clarke. He was, of course, hilarious and regaled us with impersonations of Mark E Smith. He explains away 'all the weight I've put on' by saying he's packed in the drugs. I gave him a copy of my novel and he seemed genuinely grateful, because he'd forgotten to take a book on tour with him. 'I can't get off to sleep without reading a few paragraphs…' he said. Maybe it'll take less than a few paragraphs with my book.
